This Galaxy tablet will help my students access many resources that will enrich their educational experience. It will allow for online assessments and progress monitoring and will also function as a communication aid for my nonverbal students. Currently, my class doesn't have any student computers or tablets. With this tablet, my students will be able to achieve a greater level of growth and independence, as it will give them the ability to access resources and communicate more effectively. It will also allow my students to more actively participate in tiered lessons by accessing appropriately leveled texts during group instruction. A tablet will truly open many possibilities for my students! Another focus in my class is increasing independence. The Exploring Economy Hands-On Activities Set focusses on Financial Literacy, a skill essential for my students to master in order to successfully function as independent or semi-independent adults. The jumbo timer will make it easier for students to pace themselves when we are working independently or in small groups, which increases personal accountability.
