This is the first year we are implementing phonics as a separate component to our day. Majority of my students are ELL students who could use additional materials to help them through learning and understanding the English Language. Both, the usage of the language and the patterns when it comes to spelling the words and phrases in English. After seeing my students work in a classroom setting during the virus, I have come to realize the importance of a positive learning environment that is cozy and warm even if the way we are doing things this year is different. A rug would help bring this component to the classroom and hopefully in the future when we can have mini lessons on the carpet, this rug will be a wonderful space to share with each other.
