Providing students with daily opportunities to build number sense is critical in 1st grade. We can't just tell students math concepts. They need to visualize and experience is in multiple ways. The Daily Math Fluency Kit will provide multiple ways for students to manipulate numbers and understand how number relate to each other. Daily Math Talks provide students the time to develop number sense, be flexible with numbers, consider multiple strategies, and develop efficiency. They are able to learn how their classmates view numbers, understand different pathways to the answer, and apply their understanding to their daily math lessons. We need materials that will help us support students in developing number sense and a love for learning and math.
