I teach special education to students in fifth grade, as well as sixth, seventh and eighth. These students have a variety of multi sensory needs to in order to reach their academic and social goals. Flexible seating with this requested small couch and Flex-Space Giant Comfy Pillows will be more appropriate because it will simulate what occurs in the real world. It is very difficult for students with ADHD and some other disabilities to sit still and in one place while learning. Sitting on a hard chair is nearly impossible for many if not all of them. A variety of modalities (including stand up and traditional desks) needs to be available for students to meet their academic and social goals. By donating to this project, you will enable students to have the opportunity to quiet their body, which will therefore enable them to quiet and focus their mind, and therefore begin to LEARN.
