Maker labs give students the space and materials to develop 21st century skills. With these craft materials my students will have the opportunity to apply math and science concepts to dream, design, and build prototypes. They will use the engineering design process to create solutions to real world problems. For example, they will construct ways to make useful items out of recyclable materials. They will also build simple machines and robots to solve problems. Projects will be driven by students' interests in math and science. They will experiment with building 3-D models of their creative ideas. All projects are hands-on and student centered. Students will develop the essential practice of critical thinking to make their ideas come to life.
