This set of The Lightning Thief will give my students the practice they need in reading fluency and making connections to a text. We will read this book in class (silently and together). It will help us to tackle our reading standards for the year and work really hard on understanding a full story. My students will be learning about Greek and Roman mythology in their Social Studies class while we read The Lightning Thief, which makes this the perfect book for cross-curricular learning. My students are so excited for the challenge of reading this whole book and discussing it in class!
