I am a new Reading Interventionist teaching reading instruction to small groups of students in different grade levels. Currently our building is under construction and I am in a very small workspace. I would like to provide my students with some wobble stools to sit on at the small group table and a mat to use when sitting on the floor. Wobble stools help to promote positive posture, better flow to the brain, resulting in more oxygen to the brain and have a more efficient brain leading to better focus. The cushions will provide a more appropriate and comfortable place to sit while working together on the floor where there is dust from the construction. The mats can be easily wiped down and sanitized. Having a flexible seating will met the needs of individual students especially those who struggle staying focused and for those who need movement to concentrate. Flexible seats will reduce some students’ frustration and stress. In addition, these seats will provide a more fun and comfortable learning environment.
