This sensory table and light table would make wonderful additions to our classroom. The use of both of these tables is so essential to a young child's development and communication skills that I feel like they should be necessities in all classrooms. With these items, my class could explore color, shapes, perspectives, light, shadows, and textures. They could also explore subject areas such as science, math, and reading/ language arts. Other skills that the students can gain from having centers like these would be things like collaboration, kindness, respect, independence, and many more. Sensory activities are essential for children this age to develop communication skills, critical thinking skills, creativity, and respect. The children in my class deserve the chance to not only develop the skills necessary to be successful in the classroom, but to also develop the skills necessary to be successful in all future endeavors. The possibilities of what my class could do with both of these items is potentially endless!
