This project will encourage my students to not only develop skills in engineering and technology with Lego blocks, but will also promote oratorical and language arts skills. My students will be able to express their thinking creatively with various building projects and apply the grammar, reading, and writing lessons we have covered in class to demonstrate their builds on paper and online. This activity will strengthen skills they must master by doing something that they love to do! Work with Lego blocks! According to an article published by Scots College, Lego blocks are a great way to relieve stress and engage in meaningful and joyful conversations. As children comment on their Lego creations, they develop important communication skills including the ability to explain ideas, describe their work, talk about the process and verbalize challenges that they had along the way.
