My students are excited to produce their own movies by using the Sony video cameras and tripod I requested. This is a new class I am presenting this year to the 7th and 8th graders at Frontier School. We have the video production program on the computers we will be using but my students still need the necessary equipment to shoot the movies. The donation of Sony video cameras, tripod and accessories will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing my students to plan, work together with others, create and produce movies which will greatly increase their self-confidence and self-worth. These movies can then be shown to other students, staff and parents. The movies can also be shown on our big screen TV in our school lobby. Imagine a student walking with one of their peers or parents/guardians, and saying, "Hey, that is a movie I made!". My students will be making movies for their class. As they make their movies, they will be learning the importance of planning projects, following through with their plans, and creating a product they know is their own. What an excellent way to achieve a great sense of accomplishment and self-worth. This class will be fun and educational for the students as they learn how to work together, plan, produce, and finish a project. "HEY, THAT IS A MOVIE I MADE!
