In so many ways, reading is not comfortable for my struggling readers. Any time my students are able to sit on the floor or in the teacher's chair, they get so excited for reading. Finding ways to make reading more comfortable and fun for kids who struggle is half of the battle. Helping kids want to read is my job. Something as simple as a fun chair is incredibly motivating for these kids. I would like to have enough comfortable and fun seats for all of my students to read at the same time. Having padded floor chairs, along with my teacher chair and the stools I currently have in my room will allow all students in my Title I classes to have access to a fun and comfortable seat to read. The best way to be a better reader is to read. The best way to get kids to read is to help them love it. The more I can make reading comfortable and fun, the more they will love it and the better they will be!
