My students in grades 3-5 will benefit from reading high adventure books and graphic novels. Many of my students struggle with reading. I am committed to showing my students reading can be fun and enjoyable. They enjoy reading books such as the Dork Diaries and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series' and want more books similar to those to read. My small library budget does not afford me the ability to buy as many books as I would like. It excites me when I see students waiting for me to open the library so they can find a new good book or tell me about the book they have read. The only way to make my students better readers is to give them more to read and a greater variety of books to read. By receiving the gift of new books, is creating a stronger culture of reading in my school.
