As educators, we have a responsibility to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to receive a high-quality education, from prekindergarten to elementary and secondary, to special education, to technical and higher education and beyond. Over 85% of my students are socioeconomically disadvantaged and our school site has limited technology resources, my students do not have the resources, at home or at school, to access and use technology as an additional mode of learning and expression. If I am able to provide my students with access to technology at school, I believe they will benefit in more ways than one. If my students are able to get Chromebooks, I will be able to create math lessons using the Chromebooks that provide them an additional mode of learning. I will also be able to create math projects using the Chromebooks to help students to be able to express their abilities and access their additional strengths. Additionally, as my students move towards graduation and into the workforce, they will be required to be technologically literate. Having Chromebooks will, ultimately, create access and equity for a socioeconomically disadvantaged and differently-abled population of learners as they move through high school and beyond.
