Preschool children need opportunities to express themselves and to practice oral language in fun settings. In my classroom children are given a chance to use their newly learned language skills in short, simple plays. (Ffor example The 3 Little Pigs is one of their favorites.) I love to involve students in creating and building the sets for theae plays. Many of my students are English learners and special needs children. They need a chance to use their language skills. Short plays that they memorize and perform for themselves and their families help them to apply their newly language skills. A camcorder with a microphone will give them a chance to watch and hear their own voices in these productions.
