Many students at this age are still developing their gross motor skills in Kindergarten but are also challenged to pay close attention to visual discrimination and fine motor tasks such as reading and writing. The Wobble Cushions and Wobble Board can be used by all the students in my class to help them attend longer, focus on learning skills and be less distracted, or distracting, toward others in class. The color overlays will also help students who are emergent readers be able to distinguish words and symbols while reading early emergent leveled readers in class. Several of my students have difficulty following directions and staying on-task, not out of misbehavior, but because their young bodies still need to wiggle, fidget and wobble in order to process information adequately. Help me help these six-year-old wiggle worms who want to read and write well. Now that a tongue-twister!!!
