Children learning to read need access to meaningful and personal interest books. Classroom libraries play a key role in providing access to books and promoting literacy. It increases students' motivation, engagement, and achievement and helps students become critical thinkers, analytical readers, and informed citizens. The classroom library will support literacy instruction and help students learn about books. The books will also provide opportunities for independent reading, curricular extensions and serve as a place for students to talk about and interact with books.
