Students have made connections to Inside Out characters and the emotions they can display. Students need a large representation of these emotions. The Zones of Regulation outline emotions associated with 4 different zones. The cartoon characters from Inside Out provide a concrete representation of these emotions. Students will benefit from having a large representation of these on emotions as a permanent display for reference in our classroom. Zones include red, yellow, green and blue with emotions ranging from elation to boredom. Zones lessons are targeted on a regular basis in order for the students to learn how to identify emotions in themselves as well as in others.
