This iPad and communication application will allow adult to model communication to our students throughout the day in large group lessons, circle times, in inclusion, individually and with their typically developing peers. Children need 200+ models of communication per day. Students who develop language typically have those models from birth. Students with disabilities who are learning a new communication system need many authentic opportunities to see others in their world using their system in order to develop communication Research supports that learning to use a communication app supports verbal speech. This iPad and communication app not only will improve my students ability to function in the classroom and school environment, it will allow them to become expressive members our our community.

About my class
