My students are actively engaged when they are able to thrive at their independent level. They love to explore as many mediums as possible to learn new material. I believe that adding a set of tablets to my classroom will help my students of poverty become more literacy rich. Giving them the opportunity to learn on an intimate bases will allow them to grow based on their specific needs. My resources are limited, but the places that I can take them on a tablet are beyond this world. Another wonderful thing about a tablet is it aides to diverse learning styles. If the child is a visual, auditory, tactile, or kinesthetic learner, they will be able to learn based on their needs. Many of my students don't have access to technology outside of the school, and they would benefit from more exposure to learning strategies in a fun interactive way. I am asking for the funding of four tablets to equip my students with more knowledge to comprehend second grade standards and beyond. The tablets will be used to allow the students access to nonfiction and fiction texts. We will also use the tablets to learn new math skills, research science and social studies facts, and learn the editing process as young authors. Thank you for your support in helping the next generation of learners thrive in an ever-changing society.
