We ask a lot of students in third grade. They work very hard. It is too much to work that hard and stay in a plastic chair all day. I want my students to have choices. I want my students to easily turn their chairs to face their partners. Creative thinking needs a creative environment. The flexible seats will do just that...it will help them explore the world while comfortably enjoying our classroom. We learn about sharks all over the world, but sometimes we don't know where these locations are. We also learn about why people immigrate, but we don't understand how far they travel. Having a globe for each student group will help them see oceans and countries that they have never heard of, and be able to locate important landforms on a globe.
