The use of visuals is essential in speech language therapy. Pictures allow students to make connections with the words they are hearing and reading. Black and white images are hard for students to make connections with as they don't always highlight the key differences that we are working on. By providing my students with visuals in color via a color printer, they will be able to make these valuable connections with greater ease. Having access to a color printer and extra ink cartridges in my classroom will allow easy access for the students to be able to see and manipulate language-based visuals. We will be able to use these detailed images to improve their language and understanding of the world around them. These images will help my students to answer questions, create their own responses, and think critically about what they see in the pictures.
