As kindergarten becomes increasingly challenging, it is more important than ever for my students to leave the pre-k room with a solid foundation for their school career ahead. While I am fortunate to have a literacy program in my classroom, I am in dire need of curriculum materials for fine motor/pre-handwriting development. The Handwriting Without Tears program incorporates modeled instruction with the use of hands on, multisensory materials that would be perfect for my very diverse group of active learners. These materials can be re-used, allowing for an endless number of students and future students to be given the opportunity to build strong fine motor skills before entering the world of kindergarten.
