Students were challenged to identify a problem in our community that we can solve using STEM principles. Almost immediately they started discussing how recent economic growth has led to a shortage in housing and increases to the cost of rental properties. As a solution, students are using engineering principles to design small space shelters that are eco-friendly and available to provide shelter to displaced individuals during extreme weather days. Our goal is to produce a 3D model that illustrates their design ideas. This EDU 3Doodler Create Pen bundle is great because several student groups can work independently or collaborate to work more efficiently on their prototypes. A simple filament refill will make the pens valuable in future lessons and with new classes!
