Music class is all about moving, singing, and playing! Music is experiential; learned by making the music, that is playing. At our elementary school children get many opportunities to sing and move to music and we would like to offer more opportunities to play and make music. We would like to offer supplement the Orff instruments (xylophones & metallophones) we have with a bass bars to provide a bourdon accompaniment so that students can accompany themselves. This gives students opportunities to participate by singing or moving to the music being created or playing an instrument that provides the accompaniment for the others to sing and move to. We are fortunate to have some xylophones and metallophones but are looking to complete the accompaniment with bass bars. We are requesting Bass Bars which will help provide the foundation of student accompaniment. These instruments will be used emphasize tonal harmony another aspect music.
