LEGOs will make a difference in the life of my students. These LEGO bricks will be used in our classroom throughout the school year. They will first be used as ice breakers for students to socialize during the first days of school. I will group students and have them play and build. They will ask each other open-ended questions to facilitate social interaction. Students will then continue to use these LEGOs for weekly STEAM activities and as math manipulatives during fractions, science, and other projects. LEGOs are an exceptional way students will be able to work together in fun and educational play. They will also fill in an equity gap because most students can't afford to purchase LEGOs and this will be a true hands-on experience for them. Students will engineer, design challenges, and best of all, create inventions. LEGOs will create critical thinkers in and out of my classroom. This will be an opportunity for my students to build upon their knowledge. We thank you in advance!
