Many of my students find themselves over-stressed with academic, athletic, and family responsibilities, and they have little time to step away from their screens and be creative. During the school day, even in art classes, students have to abide by rules and projects, and have little opportunity to fully realize their creative ideas. I have found that when I simply provide time and supplies, students leave Crafting Club feeling refreshed. Crafting Club is meant to give 20-30 minutes after school for students to de-stress and create without restrictions. With paints, canvases, and a bit of time, my students will have a few precious moments of relaxation between school and practice, jobs, or homework.
