Expecting students to learn while they are uncomfortable and squirmy in hard plastic chairs is not practical. I want my students to be comfortable so that they can truly maximize their learning. If students are thinking about how uncomfortable they are then they are not focused on class. Flexible seating options help students be more comfortable and create a positive classroom environment. Creating a positive environment increases student engagement, retention, and makes them feel like they are a part of a family. Our school is very small and our students thrive when they feel connected to their teachers and their peers. These flexible seating options will help them feel more comfortable and more at ease in the classroom.
