I teach 6th grade math in an inner-city charter middle school in a high-need area. Over 90% of our students qualify for free lunch according to their household incomes. My students attend school from 7:25 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday, on Saturdays, and for 3 weeks in July. They work extremely hard every day and the results show; 100% of my students passed the 2011 NYS Math Test! Teaching is never easy, but having the right supplies makes learning fun and allows my students to achieve their goals.
