Before this school year, most of them hadn't ever read a full book independently. I have done a lot of research on graphic novels and their numerous benefits for students. As a result, I have worked hard over the past few years to bring in more graphic novels to my classroom library. This grant will provide the opportunity for my students to take books home and read. I haven't been able to let students take books home in the past because my classroom library is still a work in progress.
