The items I am requesting will provide my students with hands-on opportunities for life skill learning, play, and exploration. In our classroom, work is fun and fun can be work. We work hard to create learning opportunities where everyone is included. The washer/dryer and workbench will give students opportunities to learn life skills while also strengthening gross and fine motor skills. Items will also be used for sensory therapy. The pea pod and weighted lap animals will provide sensory friendly experiences to students who need that pressure. The Getting Ready to Write Gumball Grab and the lacing kit serve a dual purpose. Not only do they provide academic practice, but they also work on fine motor skills.
