The general consensus of our room design was, the students wanted different types of comfortably seating. Some yoga balls for those fidgety students to meet that need with our distracting others. A small comfy space for small group math chats or small group. A comfy rug to sit on in a smaller setting for group work. Spaces set up around the room to give it a more comfortable feel. The word comfortable and comfy came up a lot. My desire is to help them build this positive, comfortable, environment that gives students a welcome feeling and allows them to be willing to take risks in smaller groups and then larger group settings. Helping them grow to realize the can excel in math.
