My project is about my new second graders returning to school safely. When my new kiddos come to class they will be required to stay in their seat more often then usual, sanitize frequently, not share supplies, and not use the drinking fountain nozzles. Not exactly a warm welcome! My project is about helping to eliminate some of the fear and also to keep them as safe as I can. Water bottles can be filled at our fountains, where the bottle fillers will be on and drink nozzles will be turned off, so each child will have a new water bottle, as well as their own individual bottle of hand sanitizer at their seat for frequent sanitizing, as recommended by the CDC. The waterproof pouches will be used for papers, notebooks, our new earbuds, individual dry erase boards, and even their Chromebooks will fit inside. We work at tables, not desks, so these pouches will mean fewer trips up and down to our cubbies to get supplies throughout the day. Minimal movement is vital for social distancing in a crowded room.
