We will be incorporating storybook STEM into our current literacy and science curriculum. With these new reading materials, my first graders will enjoy the benefits of read alouds and will also have the opportunity to choose these stories during self-selected, independent reading. These popular stories will provide background knowledge for students and serve as a springboard for our weekly storybook STEM focus units. These stories are highly engaging and are written by popular, well-known authors. The books have been specifically selected to be of high interest for young readers. My first graders are passionate about both reading and STEM activities, and incorporating "Storybook STEM" will combine literacy, science, technology, engineering, and math to engage my learners in hands-on, fun activities!
