As a first-year science teacher, I am limited on the resources available to me, particularly in regards to lab activities that typically are vital in science classes. Science activities not only help students experience the topic they are learning, but it also helps engage students to keep them interested in learning about science.
The Apparatus Collision Balls and the Great American Balloon Car Race lab kits will help my students understand more about motion and acceleration while at the same time helping the students develop engineering skills. These hands on lab activities will help students stay engaged and interested in learning about science. Learning science should be fun and needs to be interactive for students to come to a sufficient level of understanding of the content to achieve mastery.
The composition books are the students scientific journals and are a vital component to students work in a science class. As of right now, not all my students have their own science notebooks. I had to improvise by having students create their own "notebooks" by having students take a stack of loose-leaf-lined paper and stapled them together with card-stock-paper as a cover sheet.
