During a normal school day, my students participate in guided reading instruction, independent reading and buddy reading. When they are at home for 1-2 weeks over school holidays, they need to continue this practice. By providing my students with a fun selection of levelized fiction and nonfiction books, they can continue to read and learn at home. I will purchase backpacks for all of my students to fill with books, school supplies, hats and gloves, and fruit and snacks to send home during out two week break from school. This project will ensure that each student has at least 5 or 6 good books on their level to read over the holidays.
