The sand and water play table supports hands on exploration of fluid materials and allows children to take in information through their senses. My students can use the sand to create shapes and structures, while the water component will introduce them to early physics concepts like motion and flowing water. Sensory play stimulates all the child’s senses: touch, smell, movement, balance, sight and hearing. In addition, cooperatively playing with peers at the table will encourage sharing and problem solving. The sensory table will encourage the use of the scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore with the sand and water kits. I want to facilitate learning for my little budding scientists.
