It is my goal as a teacher to foster a love of reading for my students. Having many types of resources is a must if I am to do that. For example, I have used these "Storyworks" magazines in the past and the students absolutely love them. The magazine includes both fiction and non-fiction articles, as well as activities. Currently, we are using my "Storyworks" magazines from five years ago. Unlike books and worksheets, "Storyworks" provides the students with current articles and pictures that captivate them. Two of my favorite things are that the magazine usually has a paired passage of fiction and non-fiction and always includes a play or readers theater. I think the readers theater is probably my students' favorite!
