Our classroom needs STEM materials like PicassoTiles and construction blocks that will encourage learning through exploration. These materials will provide students with an engaging environment that fosters creativity, teamwork, and problem solving abilities. Students will create a plan to build a structure, then execute the plan. Number sense will be established by counting and writing the number of materials used. Students will then describe their structure or create a fiction story about the use of the structure. Students can also mimic creating historical monuments from around the world (Empire State Building). The sensory table builds students' fine motor skills and activates a sense of calmness.
