I recently discovered a book online that other teachers recommended to read to my students as a read aloud. It was titled: "The Wild Robot." It is a great story about a robot named Roz who is stranded on a deserted island and must adapt to the environment around her. It includes science topics as well as social issues and how to solve everyday problems. The recommendation was spot on. The students were enthralled. They could not get enough of this book. When I stopped reading for the day, moans and groans ensued. Because this book is a sequel, I would like to purchase a class set titled: "The Wild Robot Escapes", that the students can read independently and respond to in Guided Reading Corners.
