Our school's reading performance goal is to make a significant improvement on the state test. When students read for entertainment, then reading scores will happen. More than three-quarters of our students are from low-income households. They just suffer from not providing enough reading materials at home. Funding and increasing with more books and a variety of high-interest level books will enhance and add to the school library's inventory. We simply need more books. The students already are reading for classes to participate in contests. They get big prizes and have really bought into competing for them. If they along the way, while reading for a prize can buy into reading for pleasure, then I am convinced their scores will fall in line. That is the reason for HIGH-INTEREST​ books. Therefore, I am needing to add to our inventory.
