My district is transitioning to adopt the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards). Because of this, our textbooks are outdated, and we do not have access to an approved curriculum yet. I have to create my own worksheets, readings, and templates that are aligned to the NGSS. I usually include diagrams and models to help students visualize science concepts, but I only have access to a black and white printer at my school and have no reliable way of projecting my lessons on the board for all my students to see. We rely on our classroom projector to allow all of my students to access the curriculum, but our critical district-provided projector broke down and needs to be replaced immediately! Some of the science diagrams are difficult to interpret because they lack color. It would help my students greatly if they had access to color for some of the diagrams. With our school budgets, we have no idea how long it takes to get a replacement projector. The last time our projector went down, we had to wait several days to get a temporary replacement, and that really impacts my students' abilities to access the materials.
