A snowy owl was turned into our science department after being found dead on the side of the road. Our school has all the proper permits to house and preserve this protected species. The science department decided to preserve it through taxidermy so many students can benefit and learn from this owl over many decades. This beautiful snowy owl will be used in our life science, biology, and zoology classes as students study animals and birds and their characteristics. They will compare this bird to other animals of study using observations of its talons, wings, feet, beak, and other features. With it, they will be able to compare how birds are similar to other animals like reptiles and how they are different from other animals such as mammals.
