Many of my students struggle with reading because of low fluency. The incentives I have requested will help to motivate my students to read and make their 100 point Accelerated Reader goal, to try harder, and to increase their vocabulary. In addition, students have to obtain an 85% average; therefore, students have to read carefully and really understand what they are reading. One hundred points might seem unreachable to students who don't like reading due to their challenges such as low fluency and/or their lack of English vocabulary. Each time a student obtains 10 points, he or she is able to get a prize such as the LED light up toys, party favors, stretchy glitter sticky hands, and Squishies. These party favors and toys are very popular among my students and I know that even my struggling students will be motivate it to reach their reading goals. I truly believe this will help every student immensely.
