About my class

I am a teacher for first Grade students in Milwaukee public schools. Many of the students in my class suffer from various forms of trauma and that comes out in many different ways. Some have trouble focusing, some get angry easily, some have trouble building relationships. We have had a lot of success learning about mindfulness and emotional resilience; however it is difficult to teach these skills without appropriate materials. I plan on using the books I ordered to build lessons on appropriate emotional release. In addition I have included fidgets, stress toys and other things to help the students stay focused and control their anger. Social emotional education is so very important and effective. It has greatly helped my students improve the quality of their lives. With your help we will continue to grow into emotionally healthy adults. I am so excited to use these materials.
