Due to limited school budget at our founding school, we mostly stick to teaching geometry on paper through diagrams and proofs. Geometry manipulatives like geo boards will help teach rigid motions (e.g., translations, rotations, reflections), congruence, similarity and scaling, right triangles, and more! My students will be able to use personal geo boards during class to visualize rotations, determine scales of similar triangles, and compare congruent triangles presented in different ways. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not how they will afford their materials (most receive free or reduced lunch at school).
