Students in my classroom come to me at various levels along the learning spectrum. I often wish I could reproduce myself twenty-four times in order to provide more customized and focused instruction separately for each student. As a teacher, I work at providing this instruction to at the level of each child. Classroom iPads are a key tool in helping achieve this goal. Technology advances our ability to differentiate levels for readers and teach directly to their point of need. It allows us to exponentially increase our effectiveness for each student. I intend to use iPads in my classroom for three purposes. First, I want to introduce new information using iPads. The students are especially eager to learn new concepts when we introduce them using various media sources. The ability to ignite their interest in learning with a tool, such as an iPad, generates much greater learning initiation. Second, classroom iPads will help us explore math and reading concepts in more depth. Specifically, we find that students engage and persevere in their studies of math concepts with the integration of media and games. What’s more, we find that they not only persevere in repetition, but they also pursue concepts in greater depths when we integrate apps that keep their attention and immediately reward their progress. iPads in the classroom help tremendously with growing the depth and breadth of their math and reading skills. Third, we are realizing that students are learning to move beyond memorization and repetition to creative learning when we integrate media and games into their learning habits. It is as if they begin to think more thoroughly and creatively as they move through learning programs and apps. Conceptually, they seem to own, understand and apply these concepts in other areas of the classroom if they have
