Learners know what is best for their learning. Often times the traditional seating options are not what is best for them. I like to provide different options for learners. In my classroom, those options currently include traditional desks and chairs, wobble stools, ball seats, and floor seating. I’ve noticed that some learners like to stand as they work and learn, so I’d like to make that option available to them. The biggest part of what I’m asking for are bistro tables. This will allow for students to stand as they work. I’m also hoping for the stools to go with the tables since sometimes sitting at the taller tables helps learners to focus. The tables are small enough for a classroom and would only allow two learners to use it at a time, which also helps to maintain focus. These would be used for large group instruction as well as individual work time. I’m also asking for a portable dry-erase and flip chart easel. I would use this mostly for small group instruction, but also for large group. The easel I’m requesting is portable and adjustable to allow for maximum use in any situation. Learners would benefit from this because many are visual learners. I’m currently holding my flip chart paper pad as I write on it for small groups, which isn’t ideal for my learners to be able to view it.
