Some of our students have ADHD or other challenges that prevent them from being focused at a seat for extended periods of time. The 6th grade team uses movement breaks and water breaks to account for this, but having a standing desk would enable students who have this challenge to remain at work for longer periods of time. We've seen this work before by stacking a bunch of books on a student's desk so he could stand and do his work, but if we had these risers then it would be more structured. Our students love to stand and move around, let's give them the opportunity to do that in an approved manner.
