Several of my students struggle with having good self-esteem and self-efficacy. Therefore, their behaviors often interfere with their learning. These students are on specific plans with goals that align with completing their work and having positive self perceptions. When these students reach their goal of 20 good days in class they earn a chance to build a LEGO set with two friends at recess for a week. This opportunity allows them to build friendships and foster social/emotional skills. After their week of building they start a new goal of another 20 good days. The students are so excited to build LEGOs at school with their friends. This project allows for students to have a variety of sets to choose from throughout the year. When students feel good about themselves, their work improves and school becomes a fun place to learn. Thank you!
