I have challenged my biomedical engineering students to engineer devices that could help save lives. One focus is to help prevent hot car deaths of children. My students want to make the world a better place by preventing accidental child deaths. These deaths have occurred too frequently in our community and my students want to make a contribution using their knowledge to help these deaths stop. I selected MicroBit kits for the students along with the supplies that accompany them so that the children are able to develop the ideas that they have to make changes in our community. I selected speakers that could be used for the device to alarm in order to notify parents and the appropriate wires and alligator clips to make such devices work.
